Please join us to learn more about the program, its impact and how YOU can implement this training in your area. AAE's Asthma Education for the Community Health Worker program was the brain child of Dr. Chanda Holsey and was created in 2015 through the combined efforts of over 30 asthma educators under the direction of Dr. Ellen Becker and Traci Hardin. It was through Dr. Cathy Kier that the AAE was awarded a CHEST grant both in 2015 to create the program and AGAIN in 2024 to update the program. The update has been completed utilizing the expertise of 22 asthma educators including 2 CHWs under the direction of Lorene Alba and Traci Hardin.
What’s New in the Updated Program:
Expanded content on asthma triggers and remediation – Learn to identify common environmental triggers and explore practical, effective remediation strategies.
Interactive case studies – Gain real-world insights through guided discussions on successful home visits and patient-centered care approaches.
“Music with a Message” by Al Keith – A creative and memorable way to reinforce key asthma education concepts through rhythm and lyrics.
