This course is designed as a review for individuals who actively engage in the education of persons with asthma and who wish to pursue certification or recertification as an asthma educator,
Objectives

  • The two day course is based on the NAECB detailed content outline.
  • Explain trends in asthma prevalence.
  • Determine individual patient’s levels of severity and control.
  • Evaluate barriers to adherence as they apply to self-assessment and self management of asthma.
  • Utilizing problem-based learning, optimize a plan of care for patients with asthma.

Continuing Education Hours

This program has been planned and implemented in accordance with the requirements of the California Board of Registered Nursing. The Association of Asthma Educators is an approved provider (#13605) of continuing education in nursing. This activity meets criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements, and the participant is awarded 14.4 contact hours.
